President Donald Trump took off the gloves on Tuesday to verbally pummel the Democrat’s front running contender for 2020, Joe Biden.
Speaking from the south lawn of the White House, President Trump announced he hopes that Barack Obama’s former Vice President gets the nomination because he will be so easy to defeat.
Both Biden and President Trump made appearances in Iowa, always a crucial battleground state in the elections.
Responding to an advance statement of remarks Biden planned on delivering, the president noted that “his whole campaign is to hit Trump.” For example, Biden’s prepared remarks indicate he planned to say:
“It’s easy to be tough when someone else is feeling the pain. How many sleepless nights do you think Trump has had over what he’s doing to America’s farmers? Zero.”
Of course he has not a single word about the huge direct aid packages President Trump arranged to ease the burden on our agricultural heartland.
After Trump pointed out that “almost everything” that the Obama administration accomplished, “in terms of the military, security, other nations, almost everything,” has been overturned, he continued:
“When a man has to mention my name 76 times in his speech, that means he’s in trouble. I have to tell you, he’s a different guy. He looks different than he used to, he acts different than he used to. He is even slower than he used to be.”
Running against Biden would be a walk in the park, President Trump assured his base.
“I’d rather run against Biden than anybody, he’s the weakest mentally… I think Joe is the weakest up here. The other ones have much more energy. I don’t agree with their policies, but I think Joe is a man — I call him 1% Joe, because until Obama came along he didn’t do very well.”
Trump pointed out that Joe Biden doesn’t even consider China to be a U.S. competitor, which allowed China to take advantage of Obama and Biden both. “For many, many years,” Trump reminded.
“China made $500 billion over a short period of time against Obama.”
